Ink Master Is Back!
By Sidra Lackey
Ink Master, the popular tattoo competition reality show that started in 2012 and was canceled in 2020, is set to premiere September 7 on Paramount+. Season 14 will be filled with familiar faces as well as new ones.
Ryan Ashley, a favorite face and former Ink Master winner of Season 8, returns as a judge. Ink Master staple Dave Navarro returns as well, but this season, not as the host. Instead, Navarro will be “Master of Chaos” who will add twists to the competition. The new host replacing Navarro is frontman Joel Madden, from the rock band Good Charlotte. Another new face added to the 2022 season of Ink Master is celebrity tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado, who will join Ashley as a judge. The third judge is none other than Ami James, expert tattoo artist from one of the founding tattoo reality shows, Miami Ink.
Season 14 of Ink Master consists of 10 episodes where fan favorite tattoo artists will return to compete in the biggest tattooing battle of their lives to win $250,000 and hopefully achieve the coveted title of “Ink Master” of course. A press release for the 2022 Ink Master season says: “The legends will need to prove they possess the high level skills that sets an Ink Master apart: composition, precision, color theory, finesse, stamina and endurance. With stakes higher than they’ve ever been, a single misstep could send them home and, in the end, only one artist will walk away with the title.”
We will be watching in anticipation, Ink Master’s premiere September 7. Will you?
