As a native New Yorker, Keion “Kaytatz” Medrano grew up surrounded by diverse forms of urban art , which sparked his interests from an early age. He was most intrigued by the murals and intricate graffiti designs throughout his neighborhood, which he viewed as unique personalized artistic expressions. Inspired by this, Kaytatz channeled his creativity into drawing. During high school, he encountered some hardships, but continued to seek solace in drawing. It was at this time he grew fond of tattoos, and focused his energy in learning how to integrate his talents into this craft. He conducted research, and completed an apprenticeship before becoming a professional tattoo artist in 2011. Since then, Kaytatz has committed himself to mastering illustrative design, with an emphasis on black and gray realism.
